Fly Fishing Reel Winder

  • Supported mechanical design and engineering of a foldable, automated fly fishing spool winding device
  • Redesigned the spool-holding mechanism to improve functional performance, refine UX "feel", and optimize components for DFMA
  • Reduced unique screw count by half and simplified component mechanical designs to streamline assembly and lower manufacturing cost

Espresso Machine

Soap Mixing Station

  • Led R&D for the soap mixing mechanism, building benchtop works-like prototypes to test and validate performance
  • Characterized the client's proprietary soap concentrate and translated findings into engineering specs for the mechanism
  • Sourced off-the-shelf water pumps, tubing, mixing, and accessory components
Edge AI Server
  • Led mechanical engineering for a compact, portable Edge Server product, from early concept through first fully-integrated prototype
  • Designed the mechanical architecture as a bent sheet metal internal frame and plastic outer shell
  • Collaborated with industrial design to reconcile tight internal packaging with rounded outer forms; developed internal layouts and massing options

Miami Beach Bus Shelter
  • Supported a cost-driven redesign of a Miami Beach Bus Shelter, preserving the aesthetic intent of the original Pininfarina concept
  • Led CAD development for the updated shelter, constructed with a custom aluminum extrusion frame, cast aluminum joints, glass panels, stainless steel fittings, and a welded steel anchor
  • Collaborated with structural engineers to comply local building codes and meet hurricane wind-load requirements
